‘Controlled delivery’ results to arrest of drug suspect in Cebu
ANOTHER successful ‘controlled delivery’ initiated by the Bureau of Customs (BOC) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), resulted to the arrest in Cebu of a claimant of ‘Kush Marijuana’ with a street value of P1.5 million.
In a statement, the BOC said arrested after claiming the illegal drug package at the Cebu Customs Office last September 30, 2020, was one ‘Mateo Abato.’
Abato was the recipient of the package sent by one, ‘Richard Mrozek.’
The BOC said the package arrived at the FedEx warehouse at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) last September 18, 2020, where it underwent thorough inspection by the bureau’s Anti-Illegal Drugs Task Force (CAIDTF).
After PDEA confirmed the shipment was illegal drugs but was declared as ‘Shisha’ by the sender, it was then forwarded to the Cebu Customs Office.
PDEA then supervised the conduct of the controlled delivery operation leading to the suspect’s arrest.
