‘Angel Locsin,’ the beautiful Filipina actress who rose to fame as the legendary “Darna” and in other demanding roles in Philippine movies, is now with the government in its campaign against terrorism and lawlessness particularly being spread by the Communist Party of the Philippines, the New People’s Army and their front organization, the National Democratic Front.

In an ‘Instagram’ post after the meeting between Locsin and Southern Luzon (Solcom) commanding general, Lt. General Antonio ‘Jun’ Parlade last November 14, 2020, Atty. Joji Alonso, counsel for the actress, said both sides “discussed, threshed out and cleared” all the issues that cropped up between them the past few weeks.

Alonso’s statement reads:

“In a meeting held today (November 24, 2020) between AFP (Armed Forces of the Philippines) Southern Luzon Command Chief Lt. General Antonio Parlade, Jr. and actress Angel Locsin, the issues that cropped up these past weeks including the allegations against her and her sister Angela ‘Ella’ Colmenares, were discussed, threshed out and cleared.

“Ms. Locsin expressly denounces violence and terrorism in any form and supports all efforts of the government to maintain the safety and protection of its citizens.

“For his part, Lt. General Parlade conveyed to Ms. Locsin his appreciation for her contribution to the AFP and her continuing advocacy to help the poor, impoverished and the helpless.”

Aside from her role as ‘Darna,’ the country’s equivalent to ‘Wonder Woman,’ Locsin was also praised for her role in the ‘General’s Daughter’ television series that aired at the now shuttered-down, ABS-CBN network. The station was closed down after its failure to secure a congressional franchise; the franchise was denied after congressional hearings on its application showed a pattern of abuse of the power and privilege granted to it by Congress.

While it was not yet clear who sought the meeting, the event is expected to generate a cascading effect on the other Philippine movie and television personalities who have been the persistent target for influence by communist front organizations such as GABRIELA.

This women’s group was among the many CPP-organized mass organizations categorically named by CPP founder, Jose Maria Sison, as comprising the party’s “legal democratic forces” in the Philippines under the NDF and working closely with the NPA to bring down the government by armed force.

Locsin is a nephew of former Bayan Muna representative, Neri Colmenares, whom the NTF-ELCAC and other “rebel-returnees” claimed is also a “ranking member of the CPP.

Prior to last Saturday’s meeting with Locsin, Parlade has been on the receiving end of communist black propaganda after he advised another actress, Liza Soberano and former Miss Universe, Catriona Gray, to be wary of supporting the issues being raised by GABRIELA before they end up being used by the communists for their own ends.

‘LFS’ is a CPP front—Badoy

Meanwhile, another vocal task force spokesperson, undersecretary Lorraine Marie T. Badoy, called out CNN Philippines after the latter re-tweeted a call for donation to the calamity victims posted by the ‘League of Filipino Students’ (LFS).

In a statement last week, Badoy said while everyone can agree that the “back-to-back” storms that hit the country can serve as an “opportunity” to demonstrate the ‘Bayanihan Spirit’ of Filipinos, there can be “no unity…” “when dealing with terrorists who have, as a matter of policy and strategy, methodically and systematically torn the fabric of our society, planted hatred and mistrust in the hearts of Filipinos towards government and then deeply divided us.”

In its own statement, CNN Philippines said it views “with concern” the calling out made by Badoy as it “insinuated” that the network has link to an organization described as a “known front of the terrorist CPP-NPA-NDF’ by sharing on Twitter the group’s call for donations for victims of recent typhoons.”

The media company described Badoy’s statement as “this misplaced and baseless allusion.”

However, in her rebuttal, Badoy reminded CNN Philippines about the tragic fate that befell three former LFS recruits who ended up dead after ending up as fighters of the NPA.

“The list is long,” Badoy said, “but here are some of the victims of the LFS:

“UP student, Rendell Caguda, killed on November 2014 during an encounter with government forces in Sarangani Province. He was 23;

“MSU English major and high school valedictorian, Kemberley Jud Luna, killed on December 2015 during an encounter in Concepcion, Bukidnon. She was 21;

“And June this year, Malvin Christian Cruz, a UP Statistics student who dropped out to join the NPA at 17 years old, died in an encounter Miag-ao, Iloilo. He was 21.”

Like GABRIELA, the LFS, together with BAYAN (Bayan Muna in Congress), Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP), Kilusang Mayo Uno (KMU) and Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT), are among the organizations admitted by Sison as being “fronts” of the CPP.
