THE Manila International Container Port (MICP) inaugurated on Monday, January 18, 2021, its own ‘Customer Care Center’ (CCC) thus finally completing the goal of Bureau of Customs (BOC) Comm. Rey Leonardo ‘Jagger’ Guerrero, to establish a one-stop, no contact, business center in all the bureau’s 17 collection districts nationwide under his ‘10-Point Priority Programs.’

The event was attended by MICP District Collector Romeo R. Rosales, together with the Port’s Deputy Collectors for Operations, Administration and Assessment.

Also gracing the event was the chief of the bureau’s Public Information and Assistance Division (PIAD), retired Armed Forces civil relations commander, Bienvenido R. Datuin Jr.

The creation of the CCC at all ports is aimed at complying with RA 11032 or the Ease of Doing Business Act thru the ‘No Contact’ policy of Guerrero but without comprising the bureau’s mandate on trade facilitation.

MICP CCC shall house offices that will receive and release documents that are filed through the BOC’s ‘Customer Care Portal System.’

The center would also provide information to queries and concerns that stakeholders may have with the Port.

In his statement, Collector Rosales encouraged the Port’s stakeholders to utilize the center as it would be a more convenient way to process entries and shipments with the bureau.

Aside from establishing the CCC in all of the bureau’s ports, a separate CCC was also inaugurated late last year at the Central Mail Exchange Center (CMEC), under the NAIA collection district, thus bringing to 18 the total number of operational CCC at the agency.
