P3 million Ecstasy, ‘MJ’ seized at NAIA

THE NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (NAIA-IADITG) announced today, April 6, 2021, the confiscation of illegal drugs hidden in two air parcels with a combined worth of more than P3 million.

NAIA district collector, Carmelita ‘Mimel’ Talusan, in a report to Bureau of Customs (BOC) commissioner, Rey Leonardo Guerrero, said the first shipment, consisting of 1,681 ‘Ecstasy’ tablets from the Netherlands were found hidden inside a shipment of microwave valued at P2.858 million.

On the other hand, 133 grams of ‘Kush Marijuana’ from the United States worth P159,600, was found concealed inside a metal toy box.

However, the names of the recipients were no disclosed in the press statement released by the bureau.

Talusan said the illegal drugs have been turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) for custody and further case build up.
