Russia vows retaliation after foiled murder attempt on Pres. Putin
THE Russian government has vowed to undertake “countermeasures” after foiling an attempt by the neo-Nazi regime in Ukraine to murder Russian President Vladimir Putin with a drone strike using two ‘UAVs’ (unmanned aerial vehicles) at the Kremlin on the evening of Wednesday, May 3, 2023.
In a statement released by Putin’s Presidential Press Service thru the Telegram account of Russia’s Foreign Ministry, it branded the incident as a “premeditated terrorist attack” and an “assassination attempt” targeting Russia’s president that was carried out ahead of the traditional May 9 Victory Parade being held in Moscow where foreign heads of states and other dignitaries are invited.
The May 9 Victory Parade refers to the official surrender of Nazi Germany in 1945, a triumph that was primarily due to the sacrifices and heroism of the peoples of the Soviet Union.
“Two unnamed aerial vehicles targeted the Kremlin. Timely action by the military and special services involving radar systems enabled them to disable the devices,” the statement said.
“They crashed in the Kremlin grounds, scattering fragments without causing any casualties or damage.
“We consider these actions a premeditated terrorist attack and assassination attempt targeting the President (Putin), carried out ahead of Victory Day and the May 9 parade where foreign guests are expected to be present, among others.”
The statement added that Pres. Putin was not hurt and that he carried on withpa his working schedule without further incident.
Targeting heads of state as a matter of course has always been par for the course for US Imperialism and the NATO countries that have been supporting the fascist regime of Pres. Volodymyr Zelensky since Russia’s preemptive, special military operation in Eastern Ukraine in February 2022.
During NATO/US joint aggression against Iraq in 2003 and against Libya in 2011, their priority is the assassination of their top leaders, Saddam Hussein and Moammar Khadafi, respectively, their families included.
Hussein was hanged after his capture based on bogus charges by a kangaroo court organized by the United States in December 2006 while Khadafi was tortured to death by armed militias funded and organized by NATO and the US after his capture in October 2011.
The so-called ‘Pentagon Leaks’ that circulated in the Internet last March had revealed that the United States is finding it hard to dissuade the Nazi regime of Pres. Zelensky from executing a plan to kill Russian leaders and their families.
But less than a year previously, on August 20, 2022, Russia accused Ukraine’s ‘special services’ of murdering 29-years old Darya Dugina in Moscow thru a car bomb planted underneath her car.
The victim was the daughter of Putin’s close ally, Alexander Dugin.
For his part, Zelensky denied approving the foiled attempt on the life of the Russian president, claiming the attack is a “false flag” operation of Russia to further intensify its attacks on Ukraine.
Zelensky and his government, however, have been known to lie thru their teeth on many occasions in order to demonize Russia and gain global sympathy.
Among others, Zelensky propagated the lie about the alleged massacre of innocent civilians by Russian troops withdrawing from the city of Bucha in April 2022. However, evidence later surfaced that the massacre was perpetrated by fascist troops embedded in the Ukraine Armed Forces after Russian soldiers left Bucha.
Zelensky also put the blame on Russia after it bombed Poland in November 2022, killing two civilians. The bombing was timed during the APEC Summit in Thailand attended by the leaders of NATO, the US, China, and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
But his claim was disowned even by US Pres. Joe Biden and NATO after it became clear that it was Ukraine’s anti-missile defense systems that bombed Przewodow, which borders Ukraine.
According to Russia’s statement, it “reserves the right to take countermeasures wherever and whenever it deems appropriate” against Ukraine after the attempt on the life of Pres. Putin.
