2 containers of frozen chicken condemned in Cebu

7
THE Port of Cebu of the Bureau of Customs announced the successful condemnation of two 40-footer container vans of forfeited frozen chicken mechanically deboned meat (MDM) between January 13 and February 5.

District Collector Felipe Geoffrey K. De Vera said the condemned goods consisted of 59 pallets of frozen chicken MDM consigned to Virginia Food Inc. that were earlier forfeited in favor of the government.

The goods were condemned through thermal destruction, with the process handled by the accredited service contractor, RRDS Environmental Services, Inc. in Mandaue City, Cebu.

De Vera said the condemnation is also part of their effort to free up space and avoid port congestion.

The Port of Cebu is the busiest port of entry for all goods entering the Visayas.
