THE Bureau of Customs (BOC) celebrated another milestone as it inaugurates the Customs Training Institute (CTI) facility last April 13, 2022, located at 2nd floor, Citadel Building, 21st Street, Port Area, Manila. The event was personally attended by Comm. Rey Leonardo Guerrero and other top customs officials.
The facility is equipped with training rooms, conference rooms, and offices to house the Office of the Chancellor, headed by Atty. Noemi Garcia, Office of the Vice Chancellor, headed by Elizabeth B. Pableo, PhD, and the Interim Training and Development Division.
The venue also provides a conducive learning space for the enrolled students under the CTI program.
Pursuant to Republic Act 10143 or the Act Establishing the Philippine Tax Academy, the BOC establishes the CTI to implement a competency-based training framework for BOC employees and enhance the capabilities of tax collectors and administrators with a goal of developing competent and effective public servants thus, improving the national tax collection efficiency.
During the event, Deputy Commissioner for Internal Administration Donato B. San Juan emphasized in his welcome remarks that one of the best things you can give to your personnel is training.
He also added that the establishment of the CTI is under the 2021 10-Point Priority Program of Commissioner Rey Leonardo B. Guerrero.
