Is the EU taking Pres. Trump for a fool?

THE result of the heated verbal exchange at the Oval Office in Washington last February 28, between US President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance on the one hand and Ukraine’s “expired president,” Volodymyr Zelensky (his term ended in May 2024) on the other, is not only the first of its kind in the history of global affairs and US diplomacy.

It is also a watershed event that bares the role of the European Union (EU) and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in the perpetuation of armed conflicts around the world.

The root of that squabble was plain to see: Zelensky does not want any peace with Russia. If there should be peace, it must adhere to his ‘peace plan’ that calls for Russia to withdraw its troops, confess to being the aggressor and pay Ukraine an “indemnity” of no less than $300 billion. In other words, Zelensky, like his EU/NATO backers, also does not want peace, even under the terms being crafted by Trump.

The creation of NATO in 1949 not only ensured peace and stability in Western Europe since then against the imagined threat of a ‘Soviet expansionism’ in the continent.

Meanwhile, America’s security guarantee to Europe thru NATO enabled its countries to scrimp on defense spending while leaving the burden of defending themselves to the US whose defense spending continues to increase year, after year.

Or was Washington, especially under Joe Biden and whom Trump describes as “not a bright person,” unwittingly dragged by the EU globalists into leading and financing the aggression against Russia, starting from the eastward expansion of NATO right after the collapse of the USSR in 1991 and down to the present conflict in Ukraine?

However, events following the February 28 ‘Fiasco at the Whitehouse’ made one wonder as to whether the Ukraine War is another “project” originally designed and approved from the start by Washington?

Or was Washington, especially under Joe Biden and whom Trump describes as “not a bright person,” unwittingly dragged by the EU globalists into leading and financing the aggression against Russia, starting from the eastward expansion of NATO right after the collapse of the USSR in 1991 and down to the present conflict in Ukraine?

This suspicion may be near the truth. Instead of flying home after quarreling with Trump by rejecting peace, Zelensky hiked off to London where he received the full support of the EU, husbanded by UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, so they can continue to wage the globalists’ doomed ‘Proxy War’ against Russia— despite the clear message from Trump that the war must now stop.

The EU’s stand supporting Zelensky signaled to Trump that when it comes to Ukraine and their beloved puppet, they have the “balls” to contradict him openly.

Given this, we wonder if the EU/NATO’s decades of public display as America’s “vassals,” always “deferring” and “listening” to Washington before making any major decision, is just a “veneer” to pull the wool on America’s eyes? By making America believe that Europeans regard Uncle Sam as the ‘Capo di Tutti Capi’ or the ‘Boss of all Bosses’ as they call it in the Mafia?

In reality, however, does the EU sees the US, like Zelensky, as just another fool it can manipulate to advance its globalist agenda of unending wars? And on the cheap too!

It could be. As Trump himself opined during his first public Cabinet meeting at the Whitehouse last February 26, the EU was formed (in 1993) to “screw” the United States.

The EU’s rejection of Trump’s quest for peace in Ukraine may well be the clearest proof of this.
