The long and short of it: Probe America too

THE insistence by Western Imperialism led by the United States to “re-investigate” China as the “possible source” of COVID-19 not only defies reason or logic.

It also only raises the suspicion that like what it did to Iraq in 2003, Western Imperialism is again trying to find a pretext to rally global opinion against China to smoothen the way for another armed attack against the Chinese people– as what it did during the Opium Wars more than 180 years ago.

As far back as February this year, global experts organized by the World Health Organization (WHO), after spending over a month in Wuhan, China, announced during an international press conference in Beijing that they find no evidence to support the “lab-leak” theory of US Pres. Donald Trump whereby the virus purportedly “escaped” from a top-secret military laboratory in China, causing the present global pandemic (see Pinoy Exposé Issue of March 23, 2021).

In subsequent months, other scientists and medical experts from all over the world supported this conclusion including the other conclusion by WHO that the source of the virus is most likely from animals to human (“zoonotic transmission”).

When Trump floated his “lab-leak” humbug, he was trying to deflect domestic criticism over the loose manner that the US had approached the threat of COVID-19 infections and which, almost overnight, made the US the most afflicted country in the world in terms of infections and death.

In this current “blame game” against China now eagerly being pushed by Pres. Joe Biden, it is also becoming clear that other than deflecting domestic criticism and laying the pretext for aggression against China, the US has been trying mightily to bury the loudening call—even by its own scientists and experts— for the WHO to also investigate the United States as the source of COVID-19.

Prima facie evidence has surfaced that the virus is already doing havoc in the US mainland (and in Europe too) in the early part of 2019, which is months and weeks before China announced its discovery of a “mysterious virus” in December of that year. How can this be, indeed?

Specifically, the focus of attention is Fort Detrick in Maryland, the “ground zero” of US bio-chemical warfare research since the height of the Second World War.

It is high time that we support the call for an investigation of Fort Detrick and the more than 200 other US bio-chemical laboratories spread all over the world in the search for the origin of COVID-19.

The US has no moral ascendancy over anyone. History is replete with its record of notoriety.

If it wants other countries investigated, it should be ready to be probed too. That is the long and short of it.
