Western arrogance over China’s success

AS the majority of the world stands amazed—and inspired— by China’s success in eliminating absolute poverty over its vast territory (the third largest country after Russia and Canada), Western Imperialism, headed by the United States, are busying themselves on how to best “contain” China thru military alliances and military bases, regardless if they are trampling on other nations’ sovereignty.

To us, such attitude is the height of Western arrogance and reckless indifference to a world still wallowing in great inequality and poverty, made worse by the COVID-19 pandemic.

It is arrogance because, until now, Western Imperialism still cannot “swallow” that the country they have “partitioned” among themselves just over 100 years ago, is now the world’s leading economic power and which triumphed over a lot of adversities thrown its way by the Western powers.

And it is reckless indifference, because, while China is busy preparing itself to celebrate the success of its “war against poverty,” the United States, under the Democrats and Pres. Joe Biden, are lining up countries to bomb and harass and intimidate, starting with the now war-torn Syria.

While Chinese leaders, particularly, Pres. Xi Jinping, are worried that their success against poverty might be short-lived and that regression might follow due to socio-economic pressure that impact on the average wage of workers in China, Pres. Joe Biden is not worried at all of not keeping his campaign promise of increasing the average federal wage in order to have the money to please the financial oligarchs at Wall Street and America’s avaricious military-industrial complex.

Thanks to technological advances, especially in the area of telecommunication, people all over the world are now seeing and judging for themselves about both the truth and the lies about China.

But for these advances, the world would have been still prey to the machinations and distortions being done on a daily basis by the world’s mainstream media focused on demonizing China.

For no matter how the Western press peddled doubts and suspicions on China’s success, the fact of the matter is now very hard to suppress: China and its version of Marxism/Socialism is a success story.

If only the West would drop its hypocrisy and false pretenses as “defenders of democracy and human rights;” if only the West would start to accept that capitalism is not the only way to economic progress and development, then achieving peace, long and lasting, is possible in every corner of the world.

In short, if only the West would drop its bull-headedness and accept that there is no single road for the world to triumph over such global problem as poverty alleviation, the better for all of us.
