THE Port of Cagayan de Oro confiscated 4 used luxury vehicles on their arrival at the Mindanao Container Terminal Sub-Port described as “55 packages of used auto spare parts” from Japan.
In a belated report to the BOC main office, the apprehension took place last February 12, 2024, according to CDO district collector Alexandra Y. Lumontad (Lumontad’s appointment has not been renewed by Malacañang—editor).
Lumontad said actual physical examination resulted to the discovery of 1 unit, used 1985 Suzuki Jimny; 1 unit, used 2001 Mercedes-Benz G Class; 1 unit, used 2003 Toyota LC Prado; and, 1 unit, used 1995 Toyota LC Prado.
Based on the examination report, the vehicles were assessed with aggregate Landed Cost, including duties, taxes, and other charges, in the amount of P6.7 million.
