THE Bureau of Customs Port of NAIA (BOC-NAIA) has started its “coordination meetings” with other government offices and its stakeholders as the government started its preparation for the expected arrival of imported vaccines against COVID-19.
In a statement dated January 17, 2021, NAIA district collector, Carmelita ‘Mimel’ Talusan said they also held two days of ‘video conferences’ with officials of warehouse operators located at the NAIA, together with representatives from the Department of Health (DOH) and the ‘Global Alliance for Vaccination and Immunization, from January 13 to January 14, 2021.
Talusan added that last January 5, 2021, her collection district had a preliminary discussion with representatives from warehouse operators coming from:
ECCF Paircargo, Cargohaus, Philippine Airlines, Philippine Skylanders Inc., Paircargo, DHL, and TMW.
Talusan added the issues discussed include the protocols, permits, and facilities needed for the arrival of the approved vaccines, where the majority is expected to arrive in the country thru the NAIA.
