BOC, PDEA, collar recipient of P2.1 million ‘MJ’

JOINT elements from the Bureau of Customs – Port of NAIA and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested the recipient of P2.1 million worth of ‘Kush Marijuana’ in Marikina City, in another successful ‘controlled delivery operation.’

In a statement dated September 7, 2021, the BOC said the suspect, ‘Arthur F. Antonio,’ was immediately arrested after receiving the high-grade marijuana weighing 1.8 kilos hidden inside a parcel declared as ‘cookies, balloons, toys and school supplies’ shipped from California, USA.

The shipper has been identified as one ‘Allan Gatchalian.’

Unknown to Antonio, the presence of the marijuana was already known to the authorities after subjecting the parcel to a thorough examination before its delivery.

Antonio is now under the custody of the PDEA for further investigation and filling of appropriate charges in court.
