China’s telecom giant ZTE commends POM

ZTE Philippines, the local branch of ZTE, one of China’s biggest telecommunications companies, has praised the Bureau of Customs (BOC) for its “excellent customs clearance processing,” particularly citing the services at the Port of Manila under District Collector Alexander Gerard Alviar and the personnel at the Assessment (Formal Entry) Division.

In a letter to Department of Finance Secretary Ralph G. Recto and Commissioner Bienvenido Y. Rubio dated March 6, 2025, ZTE Philippines commended the BOC’s streamlined processes and dedicated service, highlighting their role in supporting the company’s logistics operations by ensuring the timely release of shipments, minimizing delays, and enhancing overall cargo processing efficiency.

The letter was signed by Jin Zhichao, ZTE Philippines Managing Director with a copy of his generous praise also sent to the Chinese Embassy in Manila.

In his letter, Jin acknowledged the POM’s “invaluable and full support in expediting the customs clearance of its shipments “in order to achieve remarkable results in our on-going project, namely, the Caloocan Data Center owned by a reputable internet service provider (ISP) in the Philippines.”
