Erap now tests negative for Covid—Jinggoy

Definitely on the way to full recovery
FORMER Philippine president and Manila mayor, Joseph ‘Erap’ Estrada, is definitely on his way to full recovery after testing negative for the presence of Covid-19.

In the latest medical bulletin on his condition on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, Erap’s eldest son, former senator Jinggoy Estrada, said Erap would be transferred to a “regular room” after being confined to the intensive care unit (ICU) of a hospital after being rushed there last March 28, 2019.

Jinggoy had to rush Erap to the hospital after complaining of difficulty in breathing. He later on tested for Covid-19.

MEDICAL BULLETIN NO. 7 OF FMR. PRES. JOSEPH EJERCITO ESTRADA

(April 13, 2021)

We are happy to announce that my dad continues to improve and we expect that he can be transferred to a regular room soon.

His repeat RT-PCR (swab test) is now NEGATIVE!

He is still on high flow oxygen support but at a much reduce rate.

He has been allowed to resume soft diet.

Mentally, he is oriented, conversing normally and appears to be in good spirits.

Again, we thank everyone for their continous support and love and ask that you continue to pray for him and others who are afflicted with this awful and dreaded disease.

Thank you so much.

Fortunately, Jinggoy said, he and his mother, former senator, Dra. Loi, proved negative for the virus.

Jinggoy said that Erap’s repeat RT-PCR test (swab test) showed that he is now “negative” for the virus.

The Estrada family had a scare last April 6, 2021, after Erap’s condition took a turn for the worse, prompting his physicians to put him on mechanical ventilator to ease his breathing.

Since then, however, Erap continues to make progress, Jinggoy said.

Jinggoy also once again thanked the public and their supporters for their expression of support and prayers for Erap.

“Again, we thank everyone for their continuous support and love and ask that you continue to pray for him and others who are afflicted with this awful and dreaded disease,” Jinggoy said in his last public bulletin.
