FORMER Philippine president and mayor of Manila, Joseph ‘Erap’ Estrada is very much alive and on his way to recovery after being diagnosed last March 28 of contracting Covid-19.
This was the assurance given by Estrada’s eldest son and former senator, Jinggoy, in a social media post on his father’s medical condition on April 4, 2021.
Jinggoy also thank the public for expressing their love and support to their family and to the still very much popular and beloved former president.
Several fake posts at Facebook that even bear the logos of mainstream media, GMA-7 and ABS-CBN to lend credibility took the round of social media claiming Estrada is already dead.
In reaction to such cruel posts, Jinggoy, demonstrating his innate kindness said, “Ipasa Diyos na lang natin sila (Let us just leave it all to God).”
Below is the full social media post of Jinggoy:
MEDICAL BULLETIN OF FMR. PRES. JOSEPH EJERCITO ESTRADA:
Former president Joseph Estrada is currently confined due to Covid pneumonia.
While he needed to be placed on high flow oxygen support, we are thankful that there has been no need to put him on a ventilator.
However, he is being sedated to lessen his anxiety which may affect his heart and aggravate his condition.
Thus, he has been moved to the ICU for closer observation.
Currently, he is in a stable but guarded condition.
The family would like to thank everyone who has expressed their love and support and we request continued prayers for his immediate recovery.
Thank you very much.
In a separate talk with Pinoy Exposé’ Jinggoy expressed “difficulty” for the moment as he and his mother, former senator, Dr. Loi Estrada, were also forced to isolate themselves as a precautionary measure.
Fortunately, however, Jinggoy added that both of them tested negative for the virus.
Estrada, who won in landslide fashion during the 1998 elections but was illegally removed by a US-backed civilian-military coup in 2001, is set to celebrate his 84TH birthday this coming April 19, 2021.
