Mimaropa’s 7th most wanted arrested

THE 7th most wanted person in the Mimaropa region (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan) was finally arrested at a village in Batangas City after being in hiding in the last 15 years.

P/Lt. Colonel Robert Marinda, Mindoro Oriental intelligence chief, in his report to Oriental Mindoro police director, P/Col. Reynante Corpuz Cabico, identified the suspect as Bienvinido Cadlom Pagapos, 73, married, and a resident of Sitio Minolo, Bgy. San Isidro, Puerto Galera.

Pagapos fled the island province and became a fugitive of the law after a warrant for his arrest was issued by Branch 40 Honorable Judge Tomas C. Leynes as far back as October 15, 2007. Pagapos has been charged with 3 counts of rape.

Marinda said he immediately organized a team to arrest the suspect and coordinated with the Puerto Galera Police Office and the Batangas Provincial Police Office on receiving information as to Pagapos’ whereabouts.

Marinda said his men finally tracked and arrested the suspect in Bgy. Sampaga, Batangas City last January 11, 2022. He added the suspect can now face trial after evading the law since the warrant against him was issued by the court some 15 years earlier.

Marinda added the provincial police command is now implementing various plans to arrest all wanted persons as part of their campaign to uphold the rule of law and maintain peace and order in the entire region (this article was updated/corrected on January 11, 2022, 5:20pm).
