Shabu hidden inside ‘toys’ seized at Port of Clark

THE Bureau of Customs announced the apprehension of a shipment of shabu worth over P5.5 million from the United States at the Port of Clark hidden in a parcel described as “toys.”

In a statement last March 7, the BOC said that acting jointly with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), 806 grams of shabu in vacuum-sealed plastics valued at P5,548,800.00 were found concealed in the parcel consisting of 10 pieces of toys—one ‘surprise egg toy’ and nine ‘kinetic sand toys.’

District Collector Jairus Reyes said the illegal drugs were shipped from Los Angeles, California, with Cagayan de Oro City as the final destination.
