THE official and propaganda line of private network, ABS-CBN, and its supporters that some 11,000 employees are to lose their jobs if the company stops its operation has been proven to be a lie.
This was disclosed in the reply of Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) commissioner, Caesar Dulay, to Solicitor General Jose Calida Jr., dated February 21, 2020.
The 1-page document clearly showed that the network actually only has 4,401 employees.
Despite this official record, it is noticeable that in the ongoing congressional hearing on the application for a new franchise by ABS-CBN, its officials and supporters in Congress and elsewhere continue to peddle the lie that it has 11,000 employees in its payroll.
