Torre, PRO-11 director is new CIDG chief

POLICE Regional Office 11 (Davao Region) director, P/BGen. Nicolas Deloso Torre III, whose focused and relentless effort to serve the warrant of arrest against the leader of the Kingdom Of Jesus Christ (KOJC) Pastor Apollo Quibuloy forced the latter to ‘surrender’ last September 8, is the new chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG).

Prior to this, Torre is the police director of Quezon City but was forced to give up the post in August 2023 over the brouhaha that resulted from the press conference he held with a road-rage suspect.

The order released by Camp Crame stated that Torre would be the CIDG acting director from September 25, replacing P/MGen. Leo Francisco. The same order also disclosed that he would be replaced as PRO-11 director by P/BGen. Leon Victor Zamora Rosete.

With his transfer to the CIDG, Torre is also expected to garner another star on his shoulder as the post is for a 2-star police officer.
