THE National Press Club of the Philippines (NPC), the country’s biggest organization of active members of the press, pay its highest tribute to one of the country’s foremost businessman and media mogul, the late Ambassador Antonio L. Cabangon Chua, with his elevation to the Club’s ‘Wall of Fame’ last March 14, 2025.

During the simple but well-attended event at the NPC Building, people close to him paid tribute to the nobleness of his character as a person and his unstinting support to the media community, a legacy being continued by his son, Edgard Cabangon, who was present during the occasion.

Ambassador Cabangon is the founder of the ‘ALC Group of Companies’ now a highly diversified business conglomerate that includes the broadsheet ‘Business Mirror,’ Aliw Broadcasting (DWIZ, Channel 23) and the tabloid, Pilipino Mirror.

NPC officers, headed by President Leonel ‘Boying’ Abasola and Director Aya Yupangco, initiated the installation of Ambassador Chua to the Club’s Wall of Fame. He is the first prominent Filipino to be honored by the Club since 2019, with the elevation of the late Don Emilio Yap, owner of the Manila Bulletin.
