31 kilos of shabu seized at Clark; biggest thus far
THE Bureau of Customs (BOC) announced the confiscation of 31.250 kilos of shabu worth P212.5 million at the Port of Clark, its biggest thus far in the said collection district.
Atty. Erastus ‘Dino’ Austria, district collector, in his report to Commissioner Bienvenido Rubio, said the shipment arrived last March 21, 2024, from New Jersey, USA, hidden in a shipment declared as “routers.”
Austria said he ordered a thorough examination of the shipment on receiving derogatory information from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) that subsequently resulted to the discovery of the contraband.
The examination yielded 29 packs of vacuum sealed transparent plastic, which contain crystalline substances later confirmed to be shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride).
The BOC, however, declined to name the sender and recipient of the shipment.
