Mastura is new Region 12 Chief Prosecutor

Department of Justice Regional Prosecutor for Region-12, Al Calica, with Cotabato City Prosecutor Mariam Mastura, during an event tendered in honor of Calica who is set to retire this March 28, 2025.

DEPARTMENT of Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla has appointed Cotabato City Prosecutor Mariam April V. Mastura as Officer-In-Charge for Region 12, effective from the retirement on March 28 of Regional Chief Prosecutor Al P. Calica.

Mastura is known as an upright person who has the earned the respect and admiration not only of her colleagues but also, the people of Cotabato for her integrity, professionalism and adherence to the rule of law in the administration of justice.

Under her leadership, the Cotabato City Prosecutor’s Office has been consistent in remaining on top of the best performing prosecution offices in the entire region (Pinoy Exposé, December 7, 2024).

With the appointment, the DOJ chief said Mastura can exercise and discharge the power and authority of the Office of the Regional Prosecutor and is likewise entitled to all the privileges and benefits that comes with her new position.
