6
THE Port of Clark announced it seized some 390 grams of illegal drugs (‘shabu’) hidden inside pouches of coffee bags from the United States worth P2.652 million.

In a statement, the Bureau of Customs, citing a belated report from District Collector Jairus Reyes, said the interdiction happened last December 19, 2024, by alert customs inspectors and members of the X-Ray Inspection Project (XIP) stationed at the airport, two days after its arrival, on December 17.

The substance was confirmed to be shabu thru the laboratory test conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), it added.

The actual physical inspection was witnessed by representatives from the inter-agency anti-illegal drugs task group based at Clark airport and by village officials from Dau, Pampanga.
