P20 million shabu labeled as ‘protein’ seized at NAIA

ALERT operatives at the NAIA district office of the Bureau of Customs (NAIA-BOC) interdicted a shipment of over 3 kilos of shabu worth more than P20 million described as ‘whey protein’ in the manifest.

NAIA district collector, Atty. Yasmin O. Mapa, in her report to Commissioner Bienvenido Rubio, said the shipment was examined last March 25, 2024 and the claimant, who was not named, was promptly arrested.

The BOC statement did not also disclose the source country of the shipment.

“The seizure is part of an ongoing operation to further fortify the country’s borders against the entry of illegal drugs,” Mapa said.
