A VERY pleased Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ordered the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) to implement a proposal of the Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA) to suspend the collection of toll fees on all types of vehicles passing thru the Manila-Cavite Toll Expressway (Cavitex) for the next 30 days.

Atty. Alex Lopez, PRA chair, said the proposal is expected to benefit the millions of commuters and vehicles that pass thru the length of Cavitex covering the areas of Taguig, Parañaque, Las Piñas, Bacoor and Kawit each month.

He said the initiative is aimed at following the Chief Executive’s plan to introduce new express roads to those in need.

Lopez added the President particularly noted that the suspension would help the public mitigate the impact of rising fuel prices on motorists.

Aside from Lopez, comprising the PRA board are, General Manager Cesar S. Siador Jr., Director Onyx Crisologo, Director Steve Dioscoro Esteban Jr., and Director Nolasco Bathan.

Lopez is also the Manila Chapter chair of the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas, the political party that brought PBBM to the presidency during the 2022 elections,

The Cavitex C5 Link, a collaborative project of the PRA, TRB, and Cavitex Infrastructure Corporation (CIC), a subsidiary of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), is designed to improve the regional movement of people and goods, offering a faster and more efficient route for commuters and transport services.
