BBM trust rating down to irrecoverable depth

2,020
ONE of two public opinion surveys that I can still believe just released its 2025 1st Quarter, March 15-20 polls that showed the plunge in Bongbong Marcos’ trust rating. Malou Tequia’s ‘Publicus’ reported that BBM’s trust rating among Filipinos dropped from 23 percent to just 14 percent while his distrust rating surged to 63 percent.

On the other hand, Vice President Sara Duterte’s trust rating climbed from 31 percent to 39 percent while her distrust rating stayed steady at 39 percent, despite the tremendous, systematic battering from the combined black propaganda cannons of the Quad-comm, Tri-comm, Presidential Communications Office, Malacañang’s social media troll army and oligarchy-owned mainstream media.

Marcos Dayunyor’s acquiescence and complicity in the abduction of former President Rodrigo R. Duterte to The Hague, Netherlands, is clearly the precipitant of the trust rating disaster of BBM, as Filipinos saw it as a clear betrayal of the social and national contract between the government and the people and amongst each other as citizens.

BBM abetted the kidnapping of an aging father figure of the nation, a former president of the country, to an alien land with a strange and alien court of laws is blatantly so unjust. More glaring is the ICC’s violation of the dictum that “justice delayed is justice denied” as the “confirmation” of the charges against FPRRD would only be heard in September, some 7 months after his arrest!

The uproar of millions of Filipinos in the country and millions more spread across dozens of countries is deafening. Filipinos on board international oil tankers wrote up their own placards and took selfies of their picket on their ship’s deck. Even a Filipino team in Antarctica posted their photos against the white ice showing their protests and foreign commentators like Britain’s George Galloway addressed his millions of followers, swearing “no more faith” in international law after seeing what happened to our former president.

With BBM’s trust rating plunging to unrecoverable depths would his partner in crime, the US, suffer with him?

The connection might be too imperceptible to ordinary Filipinos but it is there, from the very beginning, in 2016 when ICC prosecutor Fatou Bensouda “expressed deep concern over reports of extrajudicial killings in the Philippines.” This is the same year Duterte said, “I announce my separation from America,” with American Chihuahuas like former senator Sonny Trillanes scampering to file charges against him for “EJKs.”

Leftist-puppets of the Western Deep State ever since it co-opted Jose Ma. Sison and his CPP, went to work too on the EJK yarn, spreading the fake “30,000” EJK victims’ narrative. Kristina Conti, ICC local hire lawyer from the NULP (National Union of Lawyers of the Philippines), accused as the “law firm” of the CPP, went ambulance chasing with the ICC against Duterte.

General Jun Parlade, who in 2019 denounced the US landing arms for the NPA now covers up for National Security Adviser Ed Año’s betrayal, blaming everything on the communists instead of the US which is pulling the strings behind all the anti-Duterte forces and the ICC.

The US vendetta against FPRRD and daughter VP Sara is due to their steadfast adherence to the “independent foreign policy” admonition of our Constitution under Article II, Section 7.

They refused to violate this by merely paying lip service to it the way BBM has done.

Yes, Virginia, there’s a serious geopolitical struggle behind the Duterte ICC case – and China did the right thing in advising the ICC from politicizing and allowing double-standard in the case against President Duterte.
