THE 47th president of the United States, Donald Trump, is turning back many things that had become associated with the presence of America at the center of the world stage.
Now, the US may be moving a bit more ‘sideward’ for a while as it finds its new bearings in this new era ending the 500 years of Western domination of the rest of the world.
Trump said America is stepping out of the World Health Organization, the Paris Climate Accord while also taking concrete moves to get out of the sticky wars in Ukraine and Gaza Strip.
Trump now eyeing Canada, Greenland, Mexico, Panama and the Arctic Circle certainly shows America turning its eyes away from other regions it used to think it cannot do without – like Asia and Africa where the Global South lies.
The Philippines is already feeling the loss of attention of the US under the new 47th president; it did not receive high-level invitation to the grandest, greatest presidential inauguration in U.S. history this January 20.
In the video of the program, we did not even see where Philippine Ambassador Babes Romualdez, representing the Philippines, was seated compared to Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar, who was at the front seat, almost directly in front of Trump.
Trump has not uttered a word of interest about the Philippines all these years. His only real concern is “Chyna, Chyna, Chyna” (China) with mixed feelings of awe and challenge but without genuine hostility – even setting an early agenda to visit China within the next six months.
As ‘Al Jazeera’ reported, Trump had a telephone conversation last January 15, five days before his inauguration. The message to the world of that conversation is summed up in Al Jazeera’s report: “Trump speaks with China’s Xi, says leaders will make world ‘more peaceful.’”
Here in the Philippines ex-USAF Col. Raymond Powell is directing his proxies, PCG’s Jay Tarriela, AFP chief Gen. Romeo Brawner et al, with the full endorsement of BBM, to spin out “scary” stories of “monster” Chinese Coast Guard ships and fake Chinese “spy stories.
Filipinos need to call the attention of Trump to the perilous activities in the Philippines of the ‘US Deep State’ warmongering minions like Powell, who are all his enemies inside the US government and in the Pentagon.

On January 25 and 26, 2025, the Cagayan de Oro ‘Anti-War, Anti-US Bases, Anti-Missiles’ congress will be held, with motorcades to protest the Americans’ presence now at the Lumbia Air Base and the conversion of the PHIVIDEC Eco Zone into an American naval base.
The protest follows the Anti-EDCA series of campaigns from Tuguegarao in Cagayan Province in 2023 and the Cebu Anti-War congress in August 2024.
Preparations are also underway for another protest activity in Laoag, Ilocos Norte, to condemn the presence there of the Typhon missile launchers, an American offensive weapon that is raising tension in the ASEAN region and which American warmongers now want us to buy.
In the U.S., Filipinos associated with the “Pinoys for Trump” campaign have also been enlisted to reach out to the new US President and his team to initiate the withdrawal of the Typhon missiles and the closure of US military bases here to restore peace, stability, tranquility, and prosperity in the region.
