NSC purge about “sidelining” China

3,051
ON January 4, 2025, Bongbong Marcos, Jr. presented the Filipino nation with a new, splendid gift – the ‘emaciation’ of the National Security Council (NSC) by removing the lawfully stipulated presence and participation of the Vice President of the Republic of the Philippines, Sara Duterte, as well as the living former presidents of the country.

There is a long string of inexplicable and provocative acts of Marcos beginning in February 2023 when he pivoted back to America and accepted the suffocating embrace of the United States.

This ‘volte face’ triggered tension with China under the U.S.’ “assertive transparency” strategy followed by a series of black inquisitory actions against the Dutertes such as the ICC cases revival, the POGO “spy network,” the VP’s “confidential fund” and initiation of impeachment against her.

Now comes this massacre of law, tradition, and national unity that Marcos has initiated, driving the country further into national schism, perilously pushing the government into a one-man-rule, to the jeopardy of the nation’s peace and security as national consensus on vital issues is ensured by the traditional participation in the NSC of not only the Vice-President but all living ex-presidents.

The Council was created over seven decades ago, in 1950, by President Elpidio Quirino and many now recall the precedent set by Marcos Sr. in removing then Vice-President Fernando Lopez; many now see BBM’s action as a similar step towards martial rule.

By the way, both instances were actually engineered from behind the scene by the Americans – more so now with a totally dependent Bongbong Marcos strictly following the choreography of the U.S.

We can take the hint from the article in the Western-controlled ‘Asia Times’ written by bona fide U.S. hack and proxy writer, Richard Javad Heydarian, on the likely instruction of ex-USAF Col. Raymond Powell. Heydarian wrote, “Marcos purge of Dutertes all about sidelining China…  leader’s removal of pro-Beijing Dutertes from National Security Council likely a nod to incoming Trump administration.”

“Nod to Trump” my arse, BBM’s action is more like obeisance to the Pentagon and the Deep State.

President-elect Donald Trump is in fact not anti-China; he is instead seeking to “transact” with China, as evidenced by his statement in December 2024 in his meeting at mar-a-Lago with TikTok CEO Chew Shou Zi.

Trump said that Beijing and Washington could work together “to solve all of the problems of the world.”

Much earlier, Trump publicly announced his invitation to Chinese President Xi Jinping to attend his presidential inauguration this January 20.

Bongbong Marcos’ move against the comprehensive composition of the National Security Council is a pre-emptive initiative of the Pentagon and the Deep State to monopolize Philippine national security policy and its public narrative that they dictated on BBM.

It not only sidelined Vice-President Sara but also the China-friendly President Joseph E. Estrada and Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, where the NSC consensus would have upheld an “independent foreign policy,” a policy of Third World government the US abhors.

China’s market, economy, and technological advancement is the salvation of the Philippines and the region from war and devastation the U.S. seeks to inflict on Asia to give the U.S. a room for economic recovery.

Here in the Philippines, the Americans are mobilizing its army of ‘5th Columnist,’ writers and influencers like Heydarian, Adm. Romy Ong, Jay Tarriela, Marites Danguilan-Vitug and Manny Mogato.

They are in the frontline of America’s “cognitive warfare,” to ramp up mutual misunderstandings and animosities between us, China, and the rest of the ASEAN.
