CPP/NPA: The worst IHL/HR violators

0 474
THERE can no longer be any doubt in anybody’s mind that when it comes to human rights violations and in the promotion of the ‘culture of impunity,’ it is the terrorist Communist Party of the Philippines and its armed wing, the New People’s Army (CPP-NPA), which should be on top of the list in this side of the Pacific.

And over the NPA’s continued use of explosives (anti-personnel mines) that have mostly killed civilians who simply want to lead peaceful lives, any apology, no matter how sincerely expressed or written by the CPP Information Bureau, should always be treated as a farce and a scam, take their apology to the Absalon family for example, whose two members, Kieth, 22, and Nolvin, 38, were murdered in cold-blood by the NPA in Masbate last June 6, 2021—and then blasted by an APM afterwards for good measure.

This year, in the Bicol region, Solcom area commander, Lt. General Antonio ‘Jun’ Parlade, said that 11 APMs were already used by the NPA, 8 of them in Masbate alone.

The CPP, in defense of their use of explosives with impunity, insisted these are ‘command-detonated’ bombs, which were purportedly not banned by the Ottawa Treaty and which they claimed to adhere to, as in their apology to the Absalons, “sincerely.”

The effect and result of course, tells a different story and also, tells a lot about the callous manner by which our local commies regard human life and the international treaties and Philippine laws that protect human rights.

Here, we can cite the latest atrocity committed by the CPP-NPA in Jipapad, Eastern Samar last July 7, 2021 and in another murder operation in Las Navas, Northern Samar just 3 days later, on July 10, 2021.

Not content with already having superior number (some 60 fully-armed NPAs) against a squad (less than 20 men) of soldiers and militias, the NPA still detonated 3 APMs  that killed 3 men and wounded at least 6 others.

The NPA loved to propagandize that they always treat their “prisoners” and “captives” with respect by treating their victims’ wounds for example, “in accordance with international humanitarian laws.”

But in Jipapad, they simply left their dead victims behind and the wounded in agony.

Three days later, in Las Navas, they proceeded to kill a village official, a family man—and a civilian– for the simple reason that their victim was vocal against them.

Just like what they did to the Absalons in Masbate, who are also civilians but whom the NPA hunted down for the “crime” of being vocal against them.

The CPP, along with their front organizations and political allies in and out of Congress, have been demonizing the Philippines and its government, past and present, in the international community over the issue of human rights violations and violations of international humanitarian laws.

But people have started to realize now that it is the accuser who is actually the worst violator of all.

Let not this fact escape the attention of everyone.
