‘Joma’ Sison ‘digging own grave’ by approving revival of NPA death squads
GRP plans to use his own statement as evidence against him before Dutch, EU goverments
THE government intends to use the statement of Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) founder, Jose Maria ‘Joma’ Sison, where he called for the revival of the death squads of the New People’s Army (NPA) as evidence against him to facilitate his expulsion from his haven at the Netherlands.
“Yes, we (government) is already working on it,” Southern Luzon commanding general, Lt. General Antonio ‘Jun’ Parlade, told Pinoy Exposé in an interview.
Parlade, also spokesman of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC), bared that even the Dutch government is already “tired” of playing host to the group of the aging Philippine communist leaders headed by Sison in their country.
“The Dutch government is already ‘tired’ of giving sanctuary to Sison and what they are asking is for ‘evidence’ to prove he is engaged in terrorist acts and violation of human rights,” Parlade said.
The official further averred this was the gist of their discussion when the Philippine government organized a Europe-wide visit in 2018 to inform European officials about the activities of the CPP-NPA and their many front organizations that have managed to hoodwink the Europeans that they are legitimate Philippine organizations working to uplift the condition of poor Filipinos and strengthen human rights in the country.
“At the time, our aim is to stop the Europeans from giving money to the CPP-NPA thru their front organizations and this is what is happening now,” he added.
Sison’s ‘slip of the pen’ shows he sanctions murder, assassination
In a statement issued last December 28, 2020, summarizing the activity in Europe organized by the National Democratic Front (NDF) to commemorate the 52ND anniversary of the CPP two days earlier and titled, ‘Masses, middle forces and foreign friends of the revolutionary movement demand return of armed city partisan actions,’ the participants, including Sison and former NDF peace negotiator, Luis Jalandoni, acknowledge the necessity of reviving the party’s death squads.
“The call for punitive justice and calls to fight the fascist attacks against unarmed activists and civilians in urban areas by Duterte’s death squads dominated the discussions of the forum commemorating the 52nd anniversary celebration of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) held online in Europe last December 26, 2020,” the article began.
In approving the revival of the death squads, Sison, the article said, “acknowledged that such popular demand is widespread and that the conditions are ripe for the return of armed city partisans to counter the assassinations and impunity by the Duterte regime.”
Further encouraging the formation of death squads by the CPP, Sison, in a separate article that also appeared in the official CPP website (cpp.ph/philippine revolution web central) last January 5, 2021, claimed as “fact” that there is a “strong public clamor since 2016” (when Pres. Duterte took office) “for the revival of armed city partisan units of the New People’s Army…”
The title of Sison’s article, ‘Human rights violations and corruption of Duterte regime drive the people to clamor for revival of armed city partisans,’ used the issue of human rights violations allegedly committed by government forces and corruption in government to justify the extra-judicial killing by the CPP-NPA-NDF of Filipinos from all walks of life, but in particular, those in government.
An article at the Philippine Star last January 1, 2021 (‘NPA forming urban hit squads, CPP confirms’) and quoting party information officer (and whom Sison describes as “spokesman”), ‘Marco Valbuena’ made clear that the revival of the CPP death squads, the ‘Special Partisan Units’ (Sparu) and its elite, ‘Special Operations Group’ (SOG), is now not a mere threat but a frightening reality.
Parlade averred that Sison’s endorsement of the CPP’s campaign of widespread extra-judicial killings should prove sufficient for the Dutch government to withdraw its recognition of Sison as a ‘political exile’ and expel him and his fellow CPP officials from its territory.
For the longest time, Sison has somehow managed to convince the Dutch and other European governments that he would end up dead or subjected to violations of his human rights by the Philippine government because of his political beliefs.
Sison is facing criminal charges along with other CPP officials for the mass murder of innocent villagers in the town of Inopacan in Leyte in the 80s.
