FORMER senator Jinggoy Estrada on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, said his father, former Philippine president and Manila mayor, Joseph ‘Erap’ Estrada, is now back in stable condition, with his vital organs functioning well and his immune system responding well to medication.

At the same time, Jinggoy said he is extending his family’s gratitude to Pres. Duterte for calling him on Tuesday to check on the condition of his father.

Jinggoy said he received the call from the President past 8:00 pm, adding they were touched by his gesture.

Last March 28, Jinggoy had to rush Erap to a hospital after complaining of shortness of breath. He was later on diagnosed of contracting Covid-19.

MEDICAL BULLETIN No. 3

OF FMR PRESIDENT JOSEPH EJERCITO ESTRADA (April 7, 2021)

As per updates from my father’s physicians, he continues to be in stable condition.

His kidney function is improving and his requirement for oxygen support is also slowly getting better.

His other vital organs are functioning well.

We were informed by his physicians that his inflammatory markers are on a downward trend for which we are thankful and hopefully this signals that his immune system is responding well.

We are praying that no new complications set in and that he continues to improve.

Please continue to pray for him.

Thank you very much for all your love and concern for my father. Very much appreciated.

Maraming salamat muli.

Luckily, Jinggoy said that his own test and that of his mother, former first lady and senator, Dr. Loi, proved negative.

Last March 30, Erap was strong enough to post a short video message to the public, thanking them for their prayers and support.

On April 6, however, on Jinggoy’s second bulletin on Erap’s medical condition, he expressed concern after his father’s condition worsened, forcing his physicians to put him on mechanical ventilator to ease his breathing.

Eraly today, however, Jinggoy said they are gratified that Erap is responding well to treatment.

“We were informed by his physicians that his inflammatory markers are on a downward trend for which we are thankful and hopefully this signals that his immune system is responding well.

“We are praying that no new complications set in and that he continues to improve,” Jinggoy said, as he again asked the public and their supporters to continue praying for Erap’s continued recovery.

“Please continue to pray for him,” Jinggoy said.
