NICA chief “willing” to go to jail
If “sharing” truth is now a crime…
NATIONAL Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA) director general, Alexander Monteagudo, announced he is “willing to go to jail” for sharing in his Facebook wall the “truth” and the “artistic sentiment” of other people but which were branded as “fake news” by the so-called, ‘Makabayan Bloc’ in Congress.
In a statement sent to Pinoy Exposé last October 5, 2020, Monteagudo narrated that during the congressional budget hearing for his agency’s 2021 budget on September 29, 2020, he was accused by the group that his FB posts were “fake,” implying that he was a “purveyor of false information.”
Aside from the Makabayan Bloc, Sen. Leila de Lima, incarcerated in Camp Crame for involvement in the illegal drug trade during the Aquino administration, also released a statement last October 3, 2020, similarly chiding the country’s intelligence director for purportedly spreading fake news.
“I categorically deny the said accusation,” Monteagudo declared, as he also immediately turned the table on the Makabayan Bloc by accusing them of being “members” of the Communist Party of the Philippines and its armed wing, the New People’s Army (CPP-NPA).
“…(T)hey are actually part of a terrorist organization that has killed thousands of Filipinos, destroyed many families and robbed the Filipino people of the peaceful and prosperous lives we all dream of,” the official said.
The Makabayan Bloc, whom CPP founder Jose Maria Sison previously admitted as composing the CPP’s “legal democratic forces” in the Philippines, has been exploiting the decision of Facebook to takedown dozens of accounts and pages last September 22, 2020, for allegedly being “fake accounts” closely identified with the government, the military and the police.
The Makabayan Bloc has decided to gang up on government agencies and officials during the ongoing budget hearings by accusing them of sharing the posts in the accounts taken down by Facebook in an effort to sabotage the approval of their budget requests.
Monteagudo further noted that the principal targets of the communist front in Congress are the budgets of the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO), the National Security Council (NSC) and NICA.
The three offices are in the forefront of the government’s own propaganda campaign against the CPP and its allied organizations thru the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC).
“For 51 years, the CPP/NPA/NDF has been deceiving our people and our children.
“Our best weapon against these lies and deceptions is the truth.
“But who will reveal the truth if we are cowed and intimidated by these Congressmen?
“Sino ang magsasalita? Kung hindi tayo, sino? At kung hindi ngayon, kailan.” Monteagudo explained.
“But if telling the truth is now a crime, then I am will gladly go to jail,” he added.
