IN THE midst of the global crisis stemming from the skyrocketing oil, fertilizer, food and commodities international market prices, a situation the Philippines has been managing quite successfully to keep under control, the Amboys are launching another cycle of disinformation and destabilization against the nation to serve their American masters.
This week alone we saw a handful of the Amboys go into action to confuse the mind of the Filipino and the world’s active citizens about the official perspective of the country on the US-Ukraine vs. Russia crisis.
Philippine ambassador to Washington and erstwhile PR agent of the US embassy in Manila Jose Manuel “Babe” del Gallego Romualdez threw a smoke bomb into the diplomatic scene.
Romualdez claimed that Pres. Rodrigo R. Duterte would open the Philippines and its facilities to the U.S. to use in case the Ukraine conflict “spilled over to Asia”– with not a single direct quote of the President’s words, making it appear that his own words are enough to attest to Pres. Duterte’s view on the matter. Such unfounded claims of the Amboys; we are already used to the President having to disavow such statements later on.
A similar recent incident involving Amboy and Foreign Secretary “Teddyboy” Locsin should be recalled. On February 25, 2022, Pres. Duterte has expressly stated his preference to “stay neutral” in the US-Ukraine vs. Russia conflict, which was reiterated by his Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana.
Yet, contrary to this expressed wishes of Pres. Duterte, the chief architect of Philippine foreign policy, Locsin got the DFA to vote in favor of the US non-binding resolution in the UNGA to condemn Russia.
On February 28, 2022, the Philippines goes along with the US resolution contrary to President Duterte’s wishes compelling the obviously discomfited president to convene a meeting of cross-sections of the Philippine policy establishment and the private sector to set this wayward missile of Locsin aright and negated it by announcing on March 4, in his speech in Narvacan, Ilocos Sur, thereby settling the issue once-and-for-all and adding that “… in the end, we’ll just have to select which side we will be (on),”
Given Duterte’s very warm and friendly past associations with Putin and Russia’s continuing positive assistance to the Philippines in times of crisis such as its supply of arms during the Marawi terror siege, as well as his frequent display of abhorrence of the US, I am confident that Duterte will favor Russia’s action when the dust clears and it becomes evident to him that the West and its puppet in Ukraine has not only been “poking” the ‘Russian Bear’ the past 20 years but also consistently been bombing eastern Ukraine since 2014.
As expected, the US and Anglophone simultaneously planted the seeds of its propaganda war in Asia and on February 25 we begin reading of the so-called “expert” saying “Putin’s ally, China’s President Xi Jinping, is watching intently… If he (Putin) gets away with this, it may give him (Xi) confidence, to be more assertive in the South China Sea…” citing John Blaxland, professor at the Strategic and Defense Studies Center, Australian National University – which we can only laugh at.
Talking head scholars are a dime-a-dozen and play like jukeboxes.
Like clockwork the American propaganda line seeps into the mouths of Filipino Amboys. A week after Blaxland we hear the same line on March 2 from Amboy Senator Lacson, telling Business World that “Russia’s invasion of Ukraine could particularly embolden China to do the same.”
Then on March 9 the Inquirer reports on Amboy Albert del Rosario saying, “A successful Russian invasion of Ukraine will further embolden China to likewise use force to seize the West Philippine Sea from the Philippines.”
Del Rosario also goes into a doomsday scenario for Russia and its ruble, which he said is now at financial Armageddon.
The fact is, Reuters already reported on March 7 that “Russian Ruble ticks higher.”
Russia has planned for this conflict for two decades. Financially – raise interest raise initially to stem the speculation, imposition of currency and capital controls, phase in self-reliance mode in the economy.
Europe admits it has not more sanctions to add today, Russia is surviving them all and threatens to shut down 40 percent of EU’s energy which has made the EU relent and defy more sanctions the US wants.
What is emerging from the Ukraine crisis is that the world sees China as a necessary partner for mediation of the Ukraine conflict.
From the words of the Ukrainian foreign minister Dmytro Kuleba himself, “Chinese diplomacy has sufficient tools to make a difference and we count that it is already involved (in mediation) … and that their efforts will be successful.”
If Ukraine trust China for peace making why value these Amboy talking heads’ doomsday words about China? Never!
