And still, “they” would not admit

IN a previous column, I wrote that the problem of CPP-NPA infiltration and recruitment of students in our universities and colleges as cannon fodders for their “armed struggle” against the government, would not be solved unless school administrators, those at the University of the Philippines, acknowledge this as fact and a long, pestering problem that needs to be solved, now.

As we now know, UP President Danilo Concepcion, has (still) completely failed to realize this.

In his letter to DND secretary Delfin Lorenzana last January 18, 2021, Concepcion (expectedly) lamented the defense chief’s decision to terminate the DND-UP Agreement of 1989, BUT, skirted the issue of CPP infiltration and recruitment in all UP campuses nationwide.

Now comes the members of the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP), which in its two-page letter on the issue, had, after careful reading, also decided to skirt the issue that also involves most Catholic-run universities and colleges.

Indeed, after professing they are “complaint” with government rules and regulations (issued by CHED) and adherence to “Catholic principles” (as they should be), CEAP has, from the start, tried to narrow down the discussion to an individual, Solcom chief, Lt. General Jun Parlade.

If one is to scrutinize their 2-page, undated statement (a copy of which I received), the impression is that Gen. Parlade is to be blamed for all the brouhaha.

In short, CEAP wants to “shoot the messenger” believing that by doing so, things would soon get better.

Well, it’s been two weeks now since this issue erupted and it truly makes me wonder what the heck are these priests (and nuns) have been doing all this time?

Two weeks had passed and despite their collective wisdom and genius, they are still to figure out that the information of CPP infiltration of our colleges and universities, DID NOT COME, nor was it “manufactured” by Gen. Jun; the information was instead “extracted” from the CPP files.

Translation? Sa CPP mismo nanggaling ang impormasyon, mga bosing, pero ang “pinag-iinitan” ninyo, yung naglabas lang ng impormasyon, bakeet?

Why you insist on being “blind” to this very basic fact can only be attributed to your misplaced sense of “pride.”

“Nahihiya” ba kasi kayong nalaman ng publiko na “napasok” ng mga komunista ang inyong mga eskwelahan?

Na dahil dito ay posibleng mabawasan ang inyong ‘enrollment’ (at ang inyong kikitain) bawat semester?

Eh, wala pa d’yan ang mga durugista, prostitute at mga pushers, mga bosing!

But heck, the purpose of informing you is not to paint you as CPP “accomplices” but rather, as “victims.”

Lahat po tayo, mga bosing, sa sitwasyong ito, ay mga biktima, kung hindi pa rin ninyo alam.

And your educational institutions cannot be “saved” from the menace of terrorism, subversion and radicalization, if you persist in denying that, yes, Jose, we have a “problem.”
