The contrast between China and America

0 273
THE U.S. yet again issued its fake news item to stir up the South China Sea (SCS) dispute involving China and the Philippines, with the US State Department’s January 2022 report (Report 150) on China’s maritime claims in the SCS and which China simply China off by pointing out that the US is not even a member of UNCLOS while the Philippines took scant notice of the State Department’s latest intrigue.

China continues to shower us with fraternal aid, of which the latest is the delivery of P1-billion worth of donation to the Armed Forces of the Philippines to help in the rehabilitation efforts of the Odette hit provinces in the Visayas and Northern Mindanao.

This was the second major donation in the month of January 2022 alone, just right after Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi’s donation of P800-million also for the rehabilitation of Odette-stricken areas.

The P 1-billion donation to the AFP is coming in two batches, the first, worth P615 million, arrived last January 16, 2022, while the rest, worth some P437 million, will be delivered at a subsequent date.

The donations consist of rescue and relief equipment, drone systems, detectors, water purification vehicles, ambulances, fire trucks, X-ray machines, ordnance disposal robots, bomb disposal suits and transport vehicles, backhoes, dump trucks, forklifts and earthmovers.

Meanwhile, the consular offices of the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines also continue with their sustained donations of aid to the provinces and localities hit by typhoon Odette.

Last January 28, 2022, Consul General Jia Li in Cebu, graced the donation ceremony of 6,300 bags of food stuffs and other relief goods for Mandaue City jointly raised by the Chinese Embassy and the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industries, Inc. (FFCCCFII).

While China is accelerating with its good works, the US continues its taunting and provocation to create tension with increasing SCS Freedom of Navigations Operations (FONOPs); unfortunately for the US, have been a series of fiascos:

The USSN Connecticut is now revealed to have crashed into a seamount while stealthily intruding into Chinese waters while a US F35 crashed in the SCS trying to land on the USS Carl Vinzon aircraft carrier.

Elsewhere in the world, in the spirit of building the “Community of Shared Future for Mankind,” China continues with its humanitarian aid works, such as in Tonga, which has recently been devastated by earthquakes and tsunamis sprung by an underwater volcanic eruption.

Right after the disaster was known, China promptly delivered batches of drinking water, canned meat, masks, gloves and communication radios. China’s preparedness to hep different parts of the world is astonishing!

In Guangdong province, China has created the China-Pacific Island Countries Reserve of Emergency Supplies, borne out of the many years of close relations between China and the Pacific Island countries.

On the aid cartons supplied to the grief-stricken island is printed the Chinese, Tongan and English message saying “We are one under the sun” demonstrating the shared destiny and special friendship all nations share during hard times.

In Afghanistan’s Taliban-controlled realms, winter is punishing for millions of Afghans in the country mired in abject poverty after twenty years of war under the Americans.

Their situation is worse today in the wake of the wrecked economy left behind by the US. Afghanistan’s Central Bank, in its book, holds $9.4-billion in reserves but this has been frozen/embargoed by the US, as “punishment” against the Talibans’ victory over the US military.

It has again been China to the rescue of the Afghan people’s survival and welfare during these crucial winter months, sending food, fuel and winter clothing to millions facing freezing temperatures and hunger.

At the same time, China has been sending vaccines to the Covid-19 wracked country and has even closed two projects to build a mosque and two wells for water supply in Kabul.

Trade, such as import of Afghanistan’s major product, pine nuts have been specially arranged to boost the economy.

On the European continent we are witnessing another aspect of U.S. maliciousness in pushing its opportunistic agenda. With the aim of keeping Europe under its sway, the U.S. is pushing its puppet Ukraine government to apply for Nato membership, which Russia will never allow.

In the guise of confronting Russia, the U.S. is also containing Germany which is increasingly getting independent from U.S. diktat. Hence, they now face prospect of a hot war in the Ukraine-Russia border.

This is a brief situation update on the state of the world’s geostrategic struggle between the U.S. vision of its Uni-Polar World and China’s vision of a “Community of Shared Future for Mankind” based on Multilateralism and global brotherhood for Mankind in a Win-Win international economic-geopolitical environment.
