Western propaganda on Ukraine, unraveling

0 380
SINCE the launch last February 24, 2022, of Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine, the world has mostly seen a lopsided reporting of the developments mostly in favor of the Ukraine and against Russia.

Indeed, if the Western narrative is to be believed, Russia should have been at the end of its tetters now, its economy on the verge of collapse and its own armed forces, just about to stage a mutiny, the way they turned their guns against Tsarism during World War 1.

But no matter how the West tried to give a negative portrait of what is going on, the truth and the facts have their own way of seeping out of the wood works, so to speak.

Still, we admire the Western press over their unfailing ability to “re-angle” any story in their unceasing effort to hoodwink their readers and viewers, themselves included.

Let us take the case of the siege of the port of Mariupol and the Asovstal Steelworks that finally fell into the hands of Russian troops on May 21, 2022, Philippine time.

Prior to this, Ukraine’s deranged president, Volodymr Zelensky, whose every utterance is hailed as gospel truth by the Western press, claimed that no effort by Russia would force it to takeover of Asovstal.

But as soon as this became a fact, Zelensky and the West claimed this was because the remaining Ukraine soldiers were “ordered to surrender” their arms in order “to avoid further bloodshed.”

Another laughable version of the Western media is that the war-weary and decimated Ukrainian troops are actually not surrendering but are being “evacuated,” haha!

This reminds yours truly of the 218 BC ‘Battle of Trebia’ fought between Hannibal and two Roman legions under Sempronius Longus, which was a complete disaster for

Rome, their first major defeat in the hands of Hannibal.

But as the Roman propaganda claimed, the legions fought and won in a “great battle,” initially bringing joy to the citizens of Rome.

But there is one anomaly in this narrative: If the legions won, why were the retreating and abandoning their camp?

The same happened during the Korean War in 1950, when China finally entered the fray driving back the US and allied forces from the banks of the Yalu River in North Korea and down to the very gates of Seoul.

Unable to justify the rout, one staff of Gen. Macarthur claimed they are not in full retreat but merely “advancing in a different direction,” hehehe!

Such is the way the Western media, then and now, have tried to fool the world in its story-telling-a-lie.

In the case of Ukraine, if all the things that have been said against Russia are true, why did Mariupol fell and why is the Russian rouble far stronger than it was before Russia’s advances into Ukraine?
